Had a chance to check out the 40d

I read allot of post here about the 40d, I finely had a chance to get a first hand look at one with the 28-135 lens. I was all ready to buy one but I'm having a hard time with the little view finder, looking through the view finder with a little wide angle I could barley make out any writing in the distance. It just seems so small. Or is it just me?.

Some back ground//, I purchased a 5d some time back and shoot with it for a couple weeks but ended up taking it back. The reason I returned it was, when I purchased it new it came with the same 28-135 lens. I didn't like the lens so I returned the whole out fit. Plus a little sticker shock of coarse, lets face it $1200 vs $2500 for the body

In the past I shot with a Hassy and did mostly portraits. and used a 35mm for sports.

So now I'm stumped I was excited to buy the 40d but not sure I can get use to the view finder.

Has anybodly else had the small view finder problem?

You will get used to it. Just live with a rebel or a nikon D70 for a while then go to the 40D

I find the 40D viewfinder to be quite large, actually, but that may be because I am coming from the Rebel XT. I believe the 40D's viewfinder is also slightly larger than the 30D and 20D, but I can't say for the 5D and 1 series. I have no problem with it; I like it how it is.

I guess after looking through the 5D and 35mm it just seems so small.
Im going to go by and look at it again tomorrow.
Its either the 40d or fork over the big bucks for another 5D.
