It can fit in a jacket pocket and the newer models are around 10+MP with 12X optical zoom. I'm using the 40D as a main with the Xt as a backup, but I still carry the Lumix and several films as well. You never know and I would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them. I'm looking into the G7 or G9, which ever is the newer Powershot as well since it can take my 580EX.
