Well got a call today from Henry's saying the camera had arrived after several months of waiting hoping that the AF issues some people have experienced even pros would have been resolved by now.

Quite honestly I was not expecting it to show up so soon. It is not a repack according to the store.

So the only thing I can think of now is to try it out for 14 days and see what it performs like otherwise a full refund is guaranteed by Henry's.

Any benchmarks I should be performing on it, I only have 14 days not being fully familiar with the cam what suggestions do you have?

From what I've read on this forum A1 Servo and Static objects using single point are the main concerns, anything else?

A lot of money for this cam, want to make sure its worth it.

huh? single point static objects are a problem? This is what I almost always use and it works wonderfully. I don't have problems with Servo either.

I would just use it to take pictures much in the same way you will be using it through it's lifetime. Then look closely at the results.

worry not...it'll be glorious. Mine still is!

Just make sure to concentrate on enjoying your camera and spending all your time looking for faults. If your camera does have an issue, I think it'll find you. Again though, fingers crossed...you should be fine.

enjoy!

Do not worry too much about AF issues. I have personnaly talked to Canon reps at the CPS expo in Montréal and they say that the reason the release is later then planned is because they test every body by hand before shipment for canadian bodies.

release date...it was postponned a bit because of AF issues with Us bodies.

I am waiting for my CPS card to buy a MarkIII since I hated the 40d.

so the contacts at CPS Expo are saying that each body is being tested individually, is this normal for canadian bodies or just another check to ensure no more AF issues appear?
