Just got a EOS 620 new in the box, never opened for $100. Anyways I put it on the camera, but I see no preflash fire only the main flash. It aways seems to do one flash at near full power then I have to wait for the 1 sec recharge. This is all at 100 ISO and my 50mm 1.8. The confermation light comes on, but is that truly acurate. I am not going to waste a $10 roll of film to find out unless I have to if no one knows if this works. It is also set to TTL.
Thanks
The Fox

Canon EX series Speedlites work for all EOS cameras, film or digital.
With (most) film cameras, it uses a different flash metering system that doesn't employ a pre-flash.

For more info, read the EOS Flash Bible (link in my sig).

Try bouncing the flash, if it is fire in A-ttl it will fire a preflash when you focus.
