Hi

I just need confirmation on this. I know there are 3 ways to select the AF points. The manual does not say whether we need to select the set button to confirm which AF points we've selected or to press the AF button to confirm. Is this correct?
Coming from a 350D, I think I had to select the 'set' button or re-press the AF point button to make the change.

I use the "multi-controller" button to select focus points and you don't need to confirm anything. You can only use this method to select points while the shutter is half-pressed or during the few seconds after it has been. This is a good thing because it lessens the chance of changing AF points unintentionally. Hope this helps.

On my 350D, I don't need to press the 'set' button after selecting the AF point. Just press the AF select button, choose the AF point and shoot.

I presume it is the same on the 40D and other canons.
