Hey all,

A friend of mine asked me to help buy camera's for her Jr. High Year Book club. My friend is sponsoring this club and wants to give the students and opportunity to really take ownership and make the year book outstanding this year.

They don't have a huge budget but I don't want that to stop them from getting the best equipment they can afford. They have about $300 to get a couple cameras that the kids will check in / out on a daily basis to snap photos throughout the year. Not a lot of money I know, but I want to help them stretch those dollars.

Was thinking about suggesting two Canon Powershot A550s. Would like your thoughts. Keep in mind these cameras will be lent out to 6th graders and they don't have a buget to fully stock their club with AWESOME cameras.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

PS. I suggested having a "Camera Drive" at her school and church to see if anyone wanted to give up old cameras for her club... so if you guys have any, let me know! :D

I need all the help I can get.

You should go online to your local craigslist.org and look for used digital cameras. For $300 you could probably get some nice older models and have a few extra for more kids. No problem if one gets broken, etc.
