Hiya All,

Well well well, here are two shots, yes that's right, of my Sensor, now believe it or not the #1 is the now CLEANED SENSOR yes that's right I did say cleaned & #2 is of the Sensor before it went in for PROFESSIONAL cleaning, to say I'm ticked off is an understatement :evil: still I remained calm & spoke to the person responsible in a very polite way & he assures me he can't understand it & used a 2X magnifier to check, hell & damn nation I can see the crap with my eyes & I need glasses so by this time tomorrow I will be a happy bunny or there will be a gentleman that will have a very strange walk owing to a camera being placed somewhere one wouldn't want a camera placed

Sorry if I sound terse folks but I'm bloody livid.

BTW I coughed up £35 for this piece of professionalism

Cheers for now
Mark

MJ you can get a sensor replaced but I would imagine it would be better to get a new 400 due to the cost. I am only assuming this though.

Remember thats not the sensor the dirt is on but the glass IR filter over the top of it. Mind you I don't know if the filter is replaceable.

Mark
I agree with Toby, I think the guy just used a blower and charged you 35 quid what an f$%#ing cheek.
This Hobby is already pricey enough as it is.
I try and save money where I can.
I can't believe Canon charges $80 for the N3 Extension cable.
that is why I did this to my TC 80N3 last weekend.
https://photography-on-the.net …ghlight=Remote+conversion

Anyway I would only charge you a lady for it and it would probably still have one or two spots but definitely no where near to that extent.
I would only charge you for the Sensor Swabs ($4-$5 each over here Photographic solutions)
I would use 2 for this, wet method is the last resort especially on the 400D
I would use other methods first to get the majority of those specks of the AA filter.

Hiya All,

Many thanks for all your comments on this, well I guess time will tell eh, in about two hrs. time I'll be facing the man off.

Toby,
I'm not sure what he used to ' CLEAN ' with but there was also a whole load of ' Fluff ' caught up on the two Lugs on either side of the Sensor opening, it's also very strange if one looks at #1 the surface is now duo-tone I just hope he hasn't ****ed the surface for his sake, I'll give him one chance to put it right coz everyone deserves a second chance in most circumstances, if that doesn't work it'll go to Canon & I'll sue the bugger.

Allan,
Neat idea:D

Wish me luck eh

Cheers for now
Mark

I am thinking about opening a biz after seeing this PRO-work. I will clean sensors. I can't believe the person had the ba..s to tell you the sensor is clean. I wonder hos he takes a bath or does his laundry (let's no go there).

Bandit1 good luck.
