Thanks for the comments all- much appreciated :)

As you will have worked out - I trapped the wasp with a recipe card and a glass- It was on the car roof but too far over for me to get a shot (at least with the MPE-65).
I actually put some tiny spots of honey on the card which it stopped to feed on. I did of course release it after :)
