Another good series Brian - again I just can't see how you get so much detail out of the wasps without the highlights and harsh lighting. In order for me to get these sorts of details, the light is very harsh and there are still deep shadows - true, I'm doing better than the sto-fen and tissue that I used before, but I just can't understand...Do you use 1 sheet of paper, or 2?

Excellent shots/ Captures quite literally eh, wonderful detail especially give all the Dark & Light colours I always find that a nightmare to get right

Thanks Dave,

The shots in this case are helped I think by the light background although I was shooting at +1 FEC over my normal to allow for the white. I just use one layer of kitchen towel as it comes off the roll (I think it is 2 ply). I also believe that shooting at higher mags with the MPE-65 also helps.

You just need to adjust the FEC up by +1 when shooting against a light background like this.
