Wrong way flag...

...and at a University at that. After a day at the community fair I was on my way out and told a fireman (really big flag between two engines); he said that they knew they had put it up wrong but by the time they noticed it was half way up and it would have been alot of work to get it done right... The problem I had was that after 8 hours (and members of congress were there!) I was the ONLY person to notice and say something about it. How sad, there were over 20k people there.

Oh, and I had to do a good amount of work to make it look right too

That was my thought, too!

Great observation. I think it matters most if there's other flags flown... Then I'd really throw a fit, especially if the fire dept didn't do anything to correct it.

Edit:
I'm watching FOX(not usually though) right now... at least it isn't like the bar owner that had the Mexican flag higher that the American flag on the same pole. Some soldier-retired/separated, took his knife and cut the Mexican flag off... definitely the wrong approach. I think a request would suffice.

Well, I've seen this particular error many times. Most people in the U.S. are ignorant of flag law.

I always consider that the intent of the person/people displaying the flag is more important than the actual display.

But there is no law. The Supreme Court has assured that. I could put it on my lawn and let my dog crap on it if I wanted. Not that I would.

But there are officially recognized ways to "properly" display the US Flag. I've seen booklets distributed by the military & such.

I agree with you there. Let's not let our disdain for ignorance diminish our appreciation for the underlying patriotism.

Um . . . folks . . . No political discussions here. Let's keep it that way.

We should all try to display our flags properly. In this case would it not depend upon which side you viewed it from, unless it can only be viewd from one side.
