I just got a macro 100mm f2.8.
Here is one of my first try.

That's a pretty good shot for a newbie, very well done. Good sharpness and lighting, composition looks a bit awkward though. You'll probably end up becoming addicted to macro ;)

Pretty good for a first attempt at macro - the mass of petals in the background are a little distracting though - but good sharp detail on the fly. "I'd stop now if I were you - superb shot - Brian V" - it's probably too late, already, to stop - the macro addiction is pretty rapid and extremely virulent
