Would anyone happen to know what this lovely little creature is? It reminds me of the monster from the Alien movies :confused:

from leg to leg it must have been around 4 inches long, yikes.

I'm afraid we do.

That's a harvestman spider. Load of them about.

If you try and catch one indoors, you'll see it go into a shaking frenzy.

A completely harmless, if strange looking creature, which reveals it's secret to the macro lens.

it is very strange, and yes, this was in the UK.

It's body seemed to be really flat when he/she is resting like this, then expands when angry/ready to move. Here's another shot I took a while back from a different one.
