We were walking around the park last week and I just grabbed this. I really am kind of torn though. I like the colors. But they also bother me a little. I love Jamie's expression. But I can't decide if the image works or not. The background is so busy. What do you guy's think?

I agree that the background is a bit busy. If you want to spend the time, some curves and blur in PS could tone it down a bit.

As far as the background goes, I like it the way it is. I don't think it's too much.

Ill have to agree its very bright - my eye is drawn to it because of the brightness - not because its busy. Its a lovely photo though

Ditto, the brightness, do another layer and darken it and maybe that would help?

I think the hair is too dark...Selective blurring of the background darkening in certain areas instead of the whole image should do it.

i agree, the original was to bright.

id try just darkening the face & bright leaves though. The leaves to the left are a dark enough green in my opinion.

its just the front side is to bright and the line between face & leaves is to close.

otherwise i agree, the expression is very nice.

i also agree with swift about the hair is to dark ... you loose the texture of the hair in the edited version

Why not crop to an upright picture, that would then reduce the back ground.

Yep. That's the ticket.

I rather like green foliage as a background for portraits and candids.

that helps with the background but the composition gets weird. It feels way to tight on the right edge.
