Looking for a lightweight, yet sturdy, tripod. Needs to be able to support a 10D with Bigma. But should be compact enough to fit in airliner luggage and light enough not to tip the weigh scales.
Any recommendations?
cheers,
jim

John_T Goldmember More info | Jul 30, 2004 01:25 | #3 I have the Manfrotto (Bogen) 190CLB/NK19 with two heads, the 322RC2 grip ballhead and the 141RC2 pan/tilt. Quite stable and a snap to set up. I like it very much and don't find it heavy, however heavy is relative. Jul 30, 2004 08:22 | #4 Aylwin: Manfrotto 441 looks great, but at $700 Canadian, a bit too much ... price of the 190Pro is about $500 less, so I'll take a serious look at that www.pix2go.ca

There are three ways you can mount the the camera mount/quick release plate, left, right or on the end of the grip handle. I've tried all three and surprised myself by liking the end of the grip handle the most. I find it fun, and once I got used to it, find it fast. Look good at the weight ratings and figure out if it will be enough for your 10D and biggest lenses.
