MKIII Lost ISO 100/6400

Before tonight I was able to shoot with ISO of 100, and ISO of 6400.

I set C.Fn1:3 - Exposure to: Enable. Highest ISO speed H, Lowest ISO speed 100.

But, tonight I could only go as low as ISO 200, and high as ISO 3200.

Went back to the custom functions, and they had not changed.

Was shooting with a 24-105 in manual. Switched lenses to a 24-70/manual, to see if that would make a difference, and it did not.

Here are the steps I used to set the function (which had been working till tonight):
1. Menu
2. C.Fn1: Exposure
3. Used Quick Control Dial so "Enable" was highlighted.
4. Used Quick Control Dial so "Register" was highlighed.
5. Moved down to Highest ISO speed, and selected H, hit "set" button
6. Moved down to Lowest ISO speed, and selected 100, hit "set" button
7. Moved down to "Apply", hit "set" button
8. Enable was now highlighted.
9. Pressed "Menu" button three times to back out and turn off menu.

Any ideas what may have happened, and how to make my low and high ISO settings functional?

You probably have the Higlight Tone Priority enabled. Turn it off and you will be able to go back to ISO 100-6400.

I wasn't aware of the interaction between those two settings.

Glad I have a PDF version of the manual as well. Makes looking up things I should have read in the first place that much quicker.

Any camera I buy I always read the manual first before playing with my new toys. If I get the 1Ds MK III, I would still read the manual even though there are similarities between the MK III and the 1Ds MK III.

What's a manual?!?! Never heard of it...

Highlight Tone P is one of my favourite settings. I never turn it off actually!! I don't miss 100 and 6400... and I used to shoot at 100 ALL the time!

i do the same with cameras....had my id3 manual read 100 times over before i picked mine up.

funny thing is, i never read/followed intructions in school and don't read any other product manuals unless there's something i can't figure out down the line.

no offence - but you guys are probably used to having 1D bodies! if not....then it's stupid not to even look at the manual for these 1D's! it's totally different to the other bodies (20ds etc!)

i dont normally read the manual but with the mk3, i downloaded the manual and read it before i got mine. and i'm glad i did...coz it's a totally different beast and i had to read the manual again when i had the camera in hand!
