cool photo! i like it . . . but he is almost camouflaged; he doesn't really stick out from the background (maybe b/c of the harsh shadows?).

Hi is worth another try at PP. The big white stones are too distracting.

Nice shot.. I agree with the above poster that the larger white stones pull the attention away from the biker.. other than that it's really good.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think I will try to find a better background.

I've had the same problem also when shooting people, distracting backgrounds. Especially when in b/w. I like the shot though.

Love the composition and it looks nice and sharp, but I agree that the subject could be a little better brought out. Have you tried fiddling with your B/W conversion technique? Using different channels can often yield radically different results, as can using "digital filters". I see you have editing allowed; if you post a color version it might be fun to see what people come up with.

Thanks. I have had adobe lightroom installed for only one day, so I still have lots to learn :) . Any tips are welcomed!

I will upload the color version & post it tonight.

Here is a little bit of fooling around I did; not necessarily better, but a little different. I blended the G and B channels to make the red shirt stand out against the rocks a little more and fiddled with the levels and contrast some.
