2 Fly shots

Spotted this fly yesterday having a feed on the table on our balcony, quite large, just over a cm I'd say. Took a stab at the lighting and set the flash to FEC 0 and took a few shots, all came out very good, very little harshness in these images. Pretty happy with the crop detail.

Thanks guys. Alistair, this was one of those shots that just worked lighting wise, not sure why to be entirely honest. I usually either underexpose the shot but get a very nice even lighting, or if I get the exposure correctly, the lighting is what I consider as being too harsh. I just can't seem to balance the 2 on a regular basis. I know I sound like I'm whinging, and I am lol, but it's a weak area that I want to improve. If others can get nice light, then so can I

Background is an old blue plastic tarp that my parents have covering the outside table (they feed a variety of wild birds on this table as well as have a water container there for birds to drink from and bath in).
