I'm trying to hold out as long as I can on a 5D its killing me! (I don't NEED one until early December), so I was wondering what you folks think the odds are that we'll be getting rebates from Canon by mid October??? My deadline to order it is 2 Nov as I'd like to have a month or two to play with it before I have to work with it....

I got my eye on a 5D IF the rebates kick in and they are worth while. If not, I will probably wait and see if Canon improves on the 5D for next year. I'm not really in any rush, but do want to cross over to the full frame sensor at some point.

*Bill-

I thought about waiting for the 5D upgrade, but for the price a current 5D is at, especially if you throw some rebates on it, I think is a can't-miss... The upgrade coming to it, if from what i read is true IMO won't be worth the premium for my intended uses out of it...

The 5D is already at $2300 at B&H. Assuming $600 double rebate, that's a delicious $1700 for a FF camera. Take that D200!
