A walk around Strumpshaw fen today revealed very little. The birds were proving adept at staying out of range of my modest lens, and only saw 2 dragonflies, both of which stayed resolutely 19 feet above my head... Thanks Bernie. Yes leaves are dropping now and the birds are stating to get twitchy. Brian
