Black & yellow Argiope Aurantia

This guy has been living in the back of an old pickup truck at work for months. Finally got around to shooting him. Sorry about the no face shot, as his web is attached to the tailgate. I would have had to ruin his work to get his face.
I was already having to hang over in the truck with him as he is perched below eye level.
He is a very big boy, pics are just slightly cropped.
I think I have the ID right, but if I missed it someone please correct me.

Thanks Toby, I really wished I could have gotten a shot of his face. These guys just don't take directions very well.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds them uncooperative when it comes to photos. I was lying on my back trying to get a shot of the eyes the other day. Spider promptly turned round. Didn't turn back until I got up again...

Thanks Joan and Brian. He's the first spider that I've had to back up to get all of him in the pic. He's a big boy, he's usually eating.

Good shots, were these taken at 1:1? If so, it's probably a she, since they're usually much larger than males, especially with Argiopes. Beautiful looking specimen! You're a brave man getting under a web with one of these babies!
