Here's a couple of hovers
The first 2 were from 3 days ago the light was perfect, the last 2 from yesterday the light was too bright but these two were not too bad

Very nice Pete, looks like the two at the top are a bit different from the bottom 2. Different coloring and stripes.

The first one (#1,2) is not in my book have seen it on here before cant remember what he is though :oops:

Hiya Pete,

Great series of shots, I gota a feelin that your first is Helophilus pendulus but I'm not 100% on that, I struggle trying to memorise all the different critters

These hoverflies are amazing its not until they are magnified that you see their wonderful colours and patterns. Apparently there are about 250 species in the UK so there's lots more to find
