On the XT - or any Canon DSLR - I have the C.Fn4 3 set. Do I push the * button one time to focus on a moving person (sports) or do I push the button and hold it in while I wait for the ideal moment to shoot.

If my question is not clear....when shooting football, do I push the * one time when the ball runner starts or do I continue pushing the * button until the play is dead.

I use the Al Servo setting.

Thanks in advance.

I believe you have to hold it down while tracking the player. That's what I ended up doing while I was shooting a recent soccer game and it seemed to work well, however I ended up just focusing manually as it wasn't fast enough most of the time on my XT.

I'm new, what do I know?
