Not a false alarm. I haven't had time to dust off the pixel peeping kit, but the majority of my shots at the park today looked "soft". Upon closer inspection I discovered that certain parts of the image were in focus and sharp, just not at the points I was aiming for. A few were spot on, but the majority was off and it was obvious. A formal test will prove this. If my hunch is correct she'll be taking a trip. :(
