W/the 24-105, which sells for $1,059.00 at BH, and the Body, it is: $2,999.00 - If any significant rebate comes my way, I might have to bite on this, then sell the 24-105. Not a bad deal deal for a great camera that started out with a $$$ tag of $3,300.00!

Really not sure. It's for Canada, anyway. It would be pretty sweet if those deals turn up this month in the USA. We'll have to wait and see what happens. At any rate, the deal from BH with the 24-105 is pretty tempting as it is without the rebates.

I'm hoping I can manage to skip a round and wait for the 5DmIII. I love my 5D. Bought it used early this year and have never looked back. It's a wonderful camera and I don't think I could use much of the upgrades anyway. Sure if they were free I'd take them, but it's it's what I imagine they won't be worth the $1,000~$1,800 to upgrade. The 5D is just too good the way it is now.

So - hoping this is not off topic - it was mentioned earlier in this thread that a lot of people will be selling their 5D's when the new model is announced. I will probably be in line to buy one of those used ones. Even if you buy from reputable Photo Stores you may or may not get a "good" one.

What are some tips as to what to look out for in buying used DSLR's.

(other then the obvious ones like its got lots of wear and tear or it doesn't turn on)
