Hi everyone,
I have serch the forum for this thread, but didn't really see what I want. So here it goes: what kind of monitor do you recommend? I mostly take my pictures to the lab and my main(actually I don't have any other kind) post processing tool is CS2. I've seen on BH a samsung monitor ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ge.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t (external link) ). But it is kind of too expensive for me. I'm looking for a decent monitor of about as big as I can get in the range $6-700. I also would like to be able to calibrate it and save a profile. Any help on this is well appreciated. Thanks

LT

I recommend the 20" or 24" Dell Ultrasharp Widescreen LCD monitors, along with picking up a calibration device.

I'll ditto this - we recently bought a Dell 2407WFP-HC which is 24" and it's a superb monitor. We do have and use calibration (Eye One Display 2) but this screen was extremely close to correct before we calibrated it.

How is this Dell compared to the Apple M9178LL/A 23" LCD Cinema Display, does anyone know? I have a pc, but I heard the apple monitor is pretty good, just wondering if anyone would recommend this. It is about $200 more than the dell

I like the dell screens. I have the 2405FPW. The first 24" wide that dell put out. And yes, I paid $1500 for it. ouch!! They are only like $650 now, and even cheaper when you wait for the days of dell.

Apple is around $800, is smaller, and no more resolution than the dell. Like all Apple stuff, it's pretty but overpriced (to pay for their ridiculous marketing) and you can get more for less with other brands.

I'm rockin' the 2007FPW, 20" and it was very close in color but I do calibrate with huey. LCD's used to be my dayjob and for a monitor I was a CRT guy for a long time, but these monitors are easily good enough for the job at a really decent price.
