I see several 1D's listed on Ebay from Australia. The price in US $$$ is very low. Is this a ripoff? If a deal looks too good to be true is it?

I've been going the rounds at Camera stores just to see what a D60 looks like, and feel it in my cold clammy hands. I can't find one anywhere. The local Wold does have a 1D, feels awesome, but at $5500 I find it is out of my universe.

They're scam artists. They only would use Western Union for wire transfer. The ones you see bidding on those scam auctions are ebay employees so that the regular joe doesn't get scammed.

I went through eBay and bought my Brand New D60 from some dude in Poland. I was very leary, so I kept constant contact with him. I paid $630.00 US Dollars for it, and it was the full US style kit. He turned out to be very honest. He runs his own elctronic store, though the inventory is not deep it is all quality for cheap. Their currency is the Zlotty. Though I only paid $630 in US, it was $2,900.00 Zlotty. So I know where I am shopping for now on.

I don't know much about currencies or exchange rates. I was after a D60 and after everyone else in the world had them backordered or for nearly $3,000 and found this guy. Like I said I was leary mostly because of the price. Then I e-mailed him and he said that he makes a fortune off the US dollar because of the difference with their exchange rate. He is selling a brand new Kodak 760 on a Nikon F5 body for $499. That is a $6,000 plus camera in the states. Now that makes me leary again, but I have had good experinces with the fella.

His name is Pawel and his e-mail address is herve8442001@yahoo.com (external link)
He also has another way to get in touch from his store: sales@electronic-store.net (external link)
I am not sure is his store address will work, I looked it up in some search engines but was unable to connect, he had to link it to an e-mail for me. Like I said he does not have much, but the quality and price is good. Good Luck!

Para5063 - The polish currency is the Zloty. The current conversion rate is 4.026 Zloty per dollar.

Here is a link to verify.

Hope this helps...

His eBay name is klugatl he has a star and a pair of sunglasses by his name. He has had one negative feed back, and said it was one of his competitors trying to bring him down. Either way, I got my stuff.

The Polish fellow has been listed on EBay for 4 days, the fellow who is referring him has been a member here for 2 days. I emailed both of them. I hope to speak to the fellow who is referring him. I can always cancel my Ritz order, if they email back.

Yeah, I just seen that. I got mine through him via eBay in a Buy it Now auction. That price on the Kodak makes me wonder if it is new, but if not it can't be that old. 6.3MP cameras have not been out that long. I sure wish I could save money like I spent it!

I suppose I am the member. This past week has been my first time ever purchasing items on eBay. So far the experience has been good. I have purchased the D60, two Sigma Lens, two batteries and a BG-ED3 grip for the camera for a grand total of $2012.00. Not too shabby. Anyway if you want to get in touch my e-mail address is reynolds@sisqtel.net (external link)
I am just home for lunch, but will return later.
