I am a newbie and often learn new tricks from this interesting forum. I don't understand why some threads are "moved"? I tried to find some forum rules here but did not find any. Were the threads put into the wrong section or were they not allowed to continue?:confused::confused: How can I find them back if I need them?

e.g. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=389362

They're generally moved because they fit in better elsewhere or were accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

The forum rules can be found near the top left of the page using the link titled "Rules".

You can search for the thread you're looking for using the "search" link to the right of the "Rules" link, again near the top of the page.

I think a lot of people forget the title of the board is Digital Photography Forums.. (Note the plural).. It is a collection of forums covering a variety of topics. This forum is "Canon EOS digital cameras" and they are trying to keep discussions confined to EOS digital bodies... There are other forums for EOS lenses and photography discussion... There are even forums where you can view other peoples work or show off your own..

They moved message you mentioned to the"Talk About Photography" forum because it was discussing photography techniques and contained nothing about EOS Cameras.

I suspect there is a lot of good stuff about photography and lenses that many here never see because they only read the "EOS Camera" forum.. This link takes you to the main page so you can see ALL the forums on the board: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php

Yep - Forum Talk or General Chat?

The Canon EOS Digital Cameras section of the forum is the most viewed so often times people will post here instead of in the proper forum. The moderators then have to go through and clean up the "clutter." Posting in the right forums keeps the discussion on topic and helps people to find the right topics without too much searching.
