I have an F-3x, F-2 and a Tamrac Express 6. The F-3x seems twice the size of the Tamrac when side by side ... but in use the F-3x just seems to melt into your side and it hold a ton more than the Tamrac. I suggest a F-3x.

The crumplers do a decent job of not looking like a camera bag completely. The ThinkTank Urban Disguise does an even better job. And they make some in the smaller sizes too.

I keep the straps short and have them hang on my back more than my side. More like a sling, but easier to work from. (I have a sling and I found it annoying)

Love my Nova 3! I'm keeping my 7MDH now too. But as for the "camera bag" thing. I ranted in my own thread then deleted it, unless you carry a messenger bag all the time, why's it matter what it looks like? Seriousl why pay for styling?Do you buy Ralph Lauren because it's Ralph Lauren?

You're a male carrying bag. it's bound to have something important and expensive in it whether it's just a laptop with class books or camera gear. You're not fulling anyone with a "hidden bag" and what got meon this was someone called the Stealth Reporter a hidden bag or some BS. Seriously!? The stealth is by far from stealth. Aniwho, I buy what's cheap but still highly effective. The Nova 3 is a killer bag for the buck, check my review. So was the 7MDH since I got it for $70 or else I wouldn't own one.

ok, end rant. BUt yes, bag companies bend the truth on what bags can hold, but I think my reviews show that sometimes they don't show as much ex. 5MDH.

Rant all you want! I could care less what you think about why I want a particular bag or why I don't want a particular bag. You don't know anything about me except that I own Canon camera equipment and I am looking for a bag to put it in. If I was buying gear solely on style or prestige do you think I would own a Rebel XT?

At the same time I don't buy things just because they are good deals (unlike someone else ;)). I buy for necessity, but when I do buy I still want something I like. I could care less if it said Domke or Donkey on the side of the bag, but I like the style of bag, the construction, and the fact that Domke bags are made in the USA. It is my money and if I don't want an ugly a$$ Nova 3 that is certainly my choice!

Thanks Gary. I am starting to see an F-3x trend here. ;)

I bought the 4MDH and I do like the Crumplers, but it is also too small. The 5MDH would probably work and is still an option. Thanks.

I have the f-4af and I can fit my 30D with grip and 24-105 attached, 580EX, and various assorted items. A smaller lens I am sure would also fit, but I only have 2 lenses at the moment.

The F-3x is a carry around bag that molds, stylish and small in my opinion. Anything smaller then would mean I'm just carrying a "camera". I think that is where my ThinkTank Digital Holster comes into play.

It's safe to say that everyone here has at least 4 bags or more :)! I know that each bag has it's purpose. Although we try to make sure that purpose fits most of our needs, in the end, we spend more than we intend to (shipping costs back and forth, etc.)

Here was my trend.

1. Bought the Slingshot 300AW, realized my back couldn't handle the one sided strap. Although I thought the easy access camera pocket would be useful in the end, I sold it. Lost money there.

2. I then decided I needed a bag that can carry TONS of stuff and carrying TONS of stuff would mean as much support as possible, that's where the Vertex 200 came into play. Great compartments, lots of extras and features but I strictly use it for travelling overseas where I need to carry everything with me (or would like to make sure) it's with me on the plane rather than check in.

3. With the two previous paragraphs, I needed something small! Here comes the Domke F-3x which was nice, almost sold it when I bought another body (40D). Wow has my gear grown! But then I realized, if I let go of this, there wouldn't be anything to tote around a camera and a few items. So I kept it! Great size, small, compact, with decievable capacity!

4. Ol' and behold, I still wanted to have the capability to carry two bodies (easily accessible). My Vertex can carry two bodies but that would mean taking the backpack on and off my back. That's where the ThinkTank Speed Racer came into play (see my review here) Amazing bag!

5. Lastly, with all that said, 2 out of the 4 bags screams out "CAMERA BAG"! So I'm looking for the UK version of the 7 MDH. The Crumpler Daily XXL. Now where can I get this.

I wasn't ranting to you, you should know that. I was ranting in general about people suggesting a "non camera bag" And my Nova 3 actually looks more like a cooler as I was stopped walking on the beach they asked to see if there was alcohol in my cooler. Stupid cops.

I don't buy just cause they are good deals, it fits me like a tshirt from target as much as a tshirt from macy's. Whether it says Donkey or Domke wasn't the point, it's that it looks as such but works just like the bag LM got. You started this, mine was indirect. :p

Well, that is what you get when you rant in my thread. Get your own! :p Sorry, I thought you were taking a shot at me and you are right I should have known. I was wondering where it came from. :o

So, which is better? Canvas or Ballistic Nylon? I have the Lowepro Nova 5 and it's a great bag; carries a lot. The F2/F3 look nice too. I only have a 20D w/grip with 16-35L always attached along with a 50mm, and 580EX (more gear coming though). Maybe it's time to look at the Domke's again.

Still don't think the XT w/grip would fit with a lens attached, but thanks.

True.. it's always about the grip isn't it :p

I've always shot without a grip - that's why the slightly-larger F-802 fits just perfectly. Even carries two bodies in ready-to-shoot configuration facing down with lenses in the inserts.

The canvas is a classic look and feel. A bit more comfy. Gets dirty easier ... but screams photo journalist/pro. (Which is a good thing.)
