That looks sweet. Not a fan of the EOS1 patch but I like the bag.

I wondered that.

I saw some nice prices on some of the Domke bags on eBay. I might have to consider that when I buy my next bag.

Your next bag is an F-3x!
Now don't come back till you have one.;)

, If I get a 40D I might just get an F-3x and let my wife figure out what bag she wants for the Rebel XT, sans grip, and probably a Sigma 18-200 OS with accessories. Otherwise the F-5xB might be my next bag.

If we can coordinate a time, you can look at my F3-X sometime soon.

I've always wondered what your avatar was. Why the google and mask? You at a fire? Or asbestos plant?

The Panorama Fire, which destroyed the northern part on San Bernardino. What was interesting/odd/funny was that I and another photog were walking up this winding dirt road when an entire line 20+ fire fighters came running past us in the opposite direction. I'm giving Chris, (the other photog), my Mr. Spock, one-raised-eyebrow look from behind my goggles, as the fire fighters run by. When we turned a corner we discovered a wall of flames which seemed to be about 80' tall (at the time.)

Sounds like one of those moments when being a photog wasn't a wise career decision. Thanks for the story.

Stopped by Samy's Fairfax today and looked at the Domke's. I didn't find any canvas F2/F3's but did look at the F4. Nice bag but damn, they're expensive. They have some nice museum piece cameras in their display cases. Old Canon's and Leica's...

Gear: Kodak Brownie and homemade pin-hole cameras. Burlap sack for a bag.

but I wonder why I'd use it when I have a perfectly serviceable (and inconspicuous) sand one.

A conversation piece at POTN gatherings/shoots?

I thought the Domke bags were expensive too, but there are other bags that are similarly priced for the same size and type. Heck, they are cheap compared to the Billingham bags (and look way better too). Factor in how long they last and they seem like a bargain to me.

Nahhh ... that wasn't a big deal. Chris (the other photog) ran up to the flames and a I snapped a pix of him waving at the camera and then I ran up and waved.

Probably the worst was Lebanon. Every morning as I closed my door at the Intercontinental, I had this fear of eating Shiite home cooking. Or maybe on deck an Arco tanker heading for Valdez in winter. Nearly frozen waves were cresting above the ship. I had a rope tied around my waist with the other end inside a battened hatch ... eyes peering out from every porthole wondering how many more seconds until I quit moving and get swept overboard. Later while thawing, accounting sounded real good.

Cool...

Today, I went to Samy's Pasadena and they had the F2. It's a nice bag...time to buy one!

In black, of course...

I have both the XTI and 40D. They both work well in the F-3x although the 40D will limit "other' gear, as opposed to an XTI using it.

Honestly, I actually managed all my lenses, two bodies in it, flash, and what not (of course lens not attached) in the F-3x. Kinda cool!
