Thanks Jon.

I broke down and picked up a black one today. I have to admit I'm impressed with how much it can hold. So far I have my entire travel kit in it. No inserts at the moment, but I might be getting one soon.

Like I said, looks are deceiving! I love the F-3x and to think about it, I was about to let it go. I'm curious whether the F-4 would allow a two body more comfortably.

Depends on which body and which lens. The F-903 might take a Rebel series, no grip, and kit or shortish prime That's under $20 at B&H. Next are the F-5Xa (under $50) and F-5XB (under $60). That takes my 5D and 24-70 2.8. It's bigger and cheaper than the F-8.

My Domke f3x had its first real outing today. Took my son to the Museum of Science and Industry here in Chicago. At first it felt strange because I'm used to carrying my Crumplers across my chest and this really didn't work for the f3x. So I resorted to carrying it on one shoulder and I was shocked...this strap did not move at all. I was so impressed. Taking my 40D out of course the bag got much lighter and after a while I almost forgot it was there. This thing was a pleasure to work out of, easy to get to the camera, bag stayed put on my shoulder, weight was managable and it carried everything I asked it to and could have taken more.

To all you guys that keep recommending the Domkes (yes Jon I mean you)...Thanks!

^Too expensive IMO although the satchels look nice and the F5-XB seems like what I want for a camera &lens bag only but it has room for a flash too!

Why couldn't you wear it across your chest?
Isn't the strap long enough? :S

I'm a pretty big guy, and I was able to lengthen the included strap to fit across my chest and I can usualyl maneuver it behind me and out of my way,

I have seen pics of the F-5XB with a 5D, no grip, 24-70 and a flash easily fit.

Exactly. Assuming the strap is the same from the F-2 it is easily long enough. I can swing the bag from front to back without any trouble.

MagicNikon, I'm a big guy as well, and while it does go across my chest fine it was not as comfortable as on my shoulder, just me perhaps.

Well, I did it. I'm now officially a few pennies poorer - I bought the F2...

^5 Karl

I used the F2 this weekend at the Griffith Observatory. Haven't used it in a while ... worked out just fine, fast and comfy.
