This is a follow up to my first post, which delt with some strange happenings with my Delkin 640 card in my 10D. It seems some pictures were locked in the card at the time I change iso settings.

Well, it turns out that my card reader starting acting up as well and would not read any card. Perplexed, I turned to a computer IT friend who suggested it might be spyware! I had been running Adaware, but not spybot. He suggested I run that and see what happens.

To my complete surprise, that seemed to fix the card reader, the card now reads properly and as far as I can tell problem solved. I am such a noob at this that I don't know if this is common or even possible.

I thought this might be of interest to the forum. I really don't know if I solved a problem or all of this is coincidental.

Your comments please. Mark B.

The spyware could very well be the problem. Who knows what that software does. Maybe it's searching your disks and it's also looking on the CF card (which looks just like any other drive in Windows) and that interferes with what you're doing when you want to copy images from the card.
