1D MK II N iso in viewfinder?

is the ISO in the viewfinder all the time like the 40D or is it just when you press the button?

Only when you adjust ISO. An improvement from the original 1D, which never displayed it in the viewfinder.

I think there is a function or custom function that can leave it on all the time.

CF08-1 sets the ISO to the top panel and the viewfinder, and the shots remaining counter to the rear LCD.
