I placed a order for the MKIII a few weeks back, with the supplyer saying i would have to wait a good 3-6 mounths because they were in such demand.

Well i had a message left on the answer phone saying there is some coming in and i could have one by the end of the week HURRAY !(i think thats because there was alot of cancalled orders ? )...............BUT

Seeing that i've read all this stuff going on about the focus issue i am now reconsidering getting one .But then again i've seen so many awesome shots taken with the cam, both nature and motorsport(member Brands shots for example) i just dont know what to do ?.

Some advice would really help me make up my mind

ps - sorry if you keep answering the same old questions

Well for one, a shop that says there is a 3-6 month wait list, a few weeks back,,, in my books is one not to be trusted,,,, they are pretty well in stock everywhere now, and never more than a few days, anyhow that is another matter

I have never used a MK 3, though like your self heard/read and looked at so many images, got to say it is still a great camera.
I think only you can answer the one burning ?,,, and would you use it for what it really was built, I ask my self this ? all the time, but hence I have not bought one, truth is I bet you will never be disappointed with it. so go get it, as everyone with one will tell you that, and some will just remind you of the problems that you may face.
It is a great camera body for sure.

Hello thanks for the reply

When i orderd the cam i was mumber 64 in the very long waiting list, with the supply'er only getting 6-8 cams a week from Canon. So you can see why they would say i'd have to wait!...............But thats another matter ;).

It should be a awesome cam to use as its going to replace my good old 20D.So i should see a huge difference.

You can't draw that conclusion from that. The MKIII is NOT widely available everywhere yet. In Denmark for example there are still months of waiting time and Canon do not provide the dealers with accurate information about when they can get the cameras.

I just bought my Mark3 last week and I love, sure its pricey but I had the extra cash and I am not a huge lens addict so getting a older camera just to get another lens didnt make much sence to me. I am veyr please with the results I have obtained so far with mine. I have had no focusing issues at all even nailed some tack sharp photos of fish thru glass using AI servo.

For sure, I just got mine last Friday night, I've seen all the post about the AF but you know what, as long as your store guarantees a total refund within so many days why not?

Just a bit of testing will tell you quickly.

I'm testing mine right now, so far so good, I still have 10 days left to return it for a full refund.

I know. I still don't think it makes sense to draw the conclusion a dealer can't be trusted because he got the camera faster than expected.

I've got every bit of my cam equipment (look in my sig) from them and trust them completely. So banging on about this "dont trust them" stuff is pointless.

Well, 3-6 months wait and faster than expected, suddenly available in a few weeks,,,,,,,, and I do know the availably as I have phoned around several times, different dealers checking stock, but anyhow, you quite clearly don't know what is available in the UK.

If you have the means or the need, get the camera. It's fantastic. I've had mine for 2-3 weeks, and I love it.

I finally got an email from B&H last night that the MKIII is in stock! I signed up for the email notification back in April or May?
