First off thanks to everyone for putting accross they're views about the cam.Its been interesting to read why some peeps have problems and some are very happy with it.

I disided to go ahead a get one.

I was told over the phone that i have a 7 day return time with a full refund if i'm not happy. So i'll just get the hang of the settings and test it out.

As i said early'er.I'm going from a 20D, not from the MKII/MKIIn.So for me it should be awesome.

Thanks once again

Just some info that may interest you or some others, dabs.com sell MK3,s have sold 22 since 22nd sept, and no returns as of yet. and do sell pretty cheap as well. They also deal direct with Canon, so no middle people.
Some more good advice, don't buy off the web, phone them up and order, you can get a better deal.

In a word - NO

It will send the wrong message to Canon, that things are well.

I have sent two e-mails in to Canon, in which they indicate they will get back to me within 24 hours. 4-6 days later still nothing.

It sounds like to me they are trying to avoid the problems.

I now wish I would have been more patient and bought the 40D instead.

Funny, Canon said the same to me when I contacted them a few weeks back they would reply in 48 hours and 6 days later, seems the norm for anything you contact them about.

Just moved from a 20D to the MKIII in the last two weeks and it has been great. If you can get one, do it and don't look back. Hasn't improved me, but the focus speed is amazing compared to my 20D. I'm sure with practice it will improve me.

I haven't checked but I believe it is a file you just load into the camera. Copy to a cf card and load settings from it when you get the camera.

Its a nice feature (but not new to 1-series bodies). You can save a number of different settings on the card and load them later so you can have different settings saved ofr different shooting styles. I will save my settings to the SD card since I don't use that for shooting.

Glad you pulled the trigger. I was in two minds but for my sort of shooting, the camera has performed fantastically, a big improvement over my previous 1dmk2.
