Just got a 40D new with 1gig for $1195!!!

Brand New, Factory Fresh, U.S.A. Store Warranty.

Im understanding this to be a store only warranty? Like an OEM warranty on computer hardware?

No I get a 1 year Canon warranty.

Maybe this ebay seller has a warehouse full of 40D's that 'fell off the truck', as it were.

They're in Brooklyn, that sets off alarm bells, lol

Their website via the OP's link was a turnoff, but those reseller ratings put them in another ("do not touch with a 20-foot pole") league, for sure.

If he does get it and nothing happens for a year, then no loss in it being gray market. If being the key word.

I'm thinking maybe microman23 works for J & K or whoever they are this week.

Sort of, the warranty is one thing but will Canon USA even repair gray market cams for a fee? I thought they didn't touch them.

That doesnt make sense does it? I mean turn good money business away over a nonexistant warranty issue? And I have seen thousands of used cameras here, other sites and Ebay and never see them list expired USA warranted model listed as a selling feature. This would leave a whole lot of people in limbo about whether they could get thiers repaired or not later down the road.
Ive seen people post that they have cameras without even a serial number that have gotten them repaired by Canon.

Does anyone know for sure? Maybe it was Nikon I'd heard this about?

I just realized that it came in a 17-85 kit box. They must have got it at a deal, took the lens out and are selling that separate.
