I found a little time between classes to shoot my college’s volley ball game. This is such a challenging sport to shoot!

Canon 20D, Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 DG HSM EX, 1600 iso, f2.8 @ 1/500, handheld, AWB, .2 or .3 digital exposure compensation to the RAW file in EOS viewer utility, minor adjustments in Photoshop Elements 3.0, noise reduction in Neat Image.

All comments are welcomed. Let me have it, I am thick skinned.

Yes sir, you are right about this being a tough sport to shoot. I shot my first one last Sat. Bad lighting, fast moving, timing is tough trying to get a face, a ball and in focus. Anything you get that is useable you are doing good. The gym I shoot in has 4 lights each side with lots of dark spots. I was shooting at the same specs. as you and got a few good shots not outstanding but under the conditions I was happy. What you got look great. I like shooting with a challange.

nice shots and nice job. you got the ball in each of your pics there. that's what I always aim for shooting for my school paper :-P anyways, in the first I'd kinda like to see you crop tighter around the player there. just too much going on and could look better if you loose some of the players there on the right. oh yeah, and getting faces in the photos, nice job on that too! keep shooting. you can get even better from here. and good luck!
