It's all mindset and determination.

For sure .. I said to myself no point in shooting weddings under $2,000 with longer all day coverage going to $4,000. I mentioned that to a fellow shooter before I started and he smiled and said "You're nuts".

Well it's happened and my prices are going up again. You just gotta say you're worth it, and the rest will follow.

Plus it's embarassing to be the one documenting a lifetime of memories and being the lowest paid sailor on the boat. I booked a wedding last night where the limo bill will be over a grand .. no way some taxi driver will be getting more than a quarter of what I do.

We only have one package and I am sure thats helped us sell, everyone else in our area sells at least 2 different packages and most are offering 3 or 4 variations .... ours is very simple, contains a lot and has a few unique things we havent seen anyone else offering here yet (honeymoon album, 2 togs as standard) and the only thing we offer as a standard addition is a Graphistudio album.

I think one of the things that happens when you offer one package is clients come away with a clear view of what your about and what your offering ... so they either buy into that and book or they go elsewhere.

I tried that. Kept getting people asking how to downgrade it. So that didn't work either.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

hey Lloyd,
Here in poor Toronto we constantly seeing on the news that in Alberta you can get $17/hr doing Tim Horton and they even have trouble finding people at that rate.
(Tim Horton is like a very cheap version of StarBuck).
:-)

In Fort MacMurray, yes ... but EVERYTHING is expensive in Fort Mac, so at $17/hour you still can't afford rent.
