Joy stick question

I am using my joy stick on my 30D to move the focal points around. I like it alot better then using the wheel EXCEPT, I cant figure out how to select ALL the focal points using the joy stick...any hints?

I am not sure how it works on 30D, but on 40D, each time you press joystick directly down, it toggles between Center point and All points.

I don’t like the joystick tho’, it’s not precise enough IMHO.

I think I tried that but I will try again...Not that I have EVER been wrong before...LOL


any other hints?

From page 77 of the 30D manual: "If you press the multicontroller in the same direction as the currently-selected AF point, all the AF points will light and automatic AF point selection will be set."

If you're using the center point, that means that you'd press it straight down again (since that's how you select the center point).

I will try it again....I thought I tried that...

Superdiver, try pressing the focus point select activation button, which is the rightmost button on the back of the camera. When the camera is set up to use the joystick for focus point selection, that button will cause them all to be selected.

So I went out to the car and tried it. It doesnt work when you push the stick to the same position it is in (I thought I had treid that...LOL), but what did work was to push the button as kcbrown recomended...Thanks...
