40D Top LCD

I notice sometimes, not all the time there is a dark spot on the top LCD. Looks like a burned spot in the far left side. Never noticed this on my 20D.

Today I saw it again (while outside). A few hours later I looked at it inside and could not see it and it looked same as the 20D.

Any idea as to what could be happening here?

I've noticed the same thing, and only outside.

I figure it's the LCD polarizer element interacting with the sunlight. There doesn't seem to be any correlation with how long the camera's been on or anything of that sort, so it's almost certainly not heat related (which is what I initially suspected).

Thanks, that makes sense. I was ready to take it in for repair
