Good for you, man. You must be estatic.

Out of curiousity, do you shoot for money? Reason I'm asking is (as I think you know), I'm thinking of getting one too, but I'm just trying to justify the cost for yet another expensive hobby. For $4500, I could get a pretty sweet pair of speakers!

whether or not you shoot for money, I think if it makes you truly happy over the longterm, then you should go for it. No matter what your job, we all work our butts off and don't get enough vacation time....so the money you make at work ought to pay for what you need, and then go to things that make you truly happy in life. Although I obviously couldn't buy one every week, I think my first week with my 1d3 was worth the purchase price alone....such a blast shooting with such an amazing camera!

I'm not a rich man by any means....I'm cheap as heck for most things, but for things I really care about I spend what I need to.

heh, 346 so far, messed around with a football match, for 30 mins, I had just played so was pretty knackered, and not the best time for me to shoot, still got a few shots of tracking the ball in mid air, fair bit of learning needed, Still Like the images that come straight out of the camera.

Photographic Images on Brett Butler (external link) px500 (external link) & Flickr (external link) Some Canon Bodies , few blackish lenses, A dam heavy black one, couple dirty white ones, a 3 legged walking stick, a mono walking stick, and a bag full of rubbish
