I've got a full bottle of eclipse for my 1d3 waiting at home when I get back in a few months. The new MK III sensor has a tin oxide coating like the 5D and 40D. There have been reports that the Eclipse solution 1 has been known to eat away the tin oxide coating leaving a residue on the sensor. The new E2 solution prevents this.
