Jon Cream of the Crop 69,628 posts Likes: 227 Joined Jun 2004 Location: Bethesda, MD USA More info | Oct 12, 2007 17:35 | #2 Looks like a Vivitar 283 auto-thyristor flash mounted on a standard Vivitar SL-2 slave trigger. You'd need to use your on-camera flash in manual mode with that particular combination, since otherwise the pre-flash would trigger the slave. You'd also need to manually set your camera's aperture to match the range (using the 283's calculator dial ) the 283 was set to. Jon
