The thumb wheel changes the shutter speed as Exposure Compensation. There might be a custom function to switch that but I don't recall. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

If you go into Av mode, you can either use the flash for fill, or use it at 1/250 second (automatically set by the camera). You could also use it in Manual mode. I've found lately that I rather like using Manual mode when I want the flash to be the primary light source.

cdifoto Don't get pissy with me 34,092 posts Likes: 48 Joined Dec 2005 More info | Oct 12, 2007 19:26 | #6 Hmm I didn't have my Speedlite attached when I posted last time but when I mount it, the Mark II defaults to 1/60th from ISO50-400, then goes to 1/80th for ISO500, then 1/100th for ISO640, and 1/125th from ISO800 and up. With the Speedlite attached it does not let me change the shutter speed and aperture is controlled by the thumb wheel. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

Reason I say that is the shutter speed goes up as ISO is increased. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

Aimed directly at a lamp and it increased as necessary, even with the Speedlite mounted. Makes sense though of course...don't want to overexpose a scene.
