Hello,

I had to laugh when one replier said not to go with more 580s because it was too expensive, then recommended AlienBees and power packs for a lot more $$;) I shoot weddings all over the world and I hate to carry all my lighting gear on international flights (especially with the new luggage charges!). I've used my Speedlites exclusively and have never had anything but great lighting from them.
I do have an older Lumedyne set but my power packs have burnt out. Does anyone know if I can use the old bulbs and cables with newer Lumedyne equipment?

What Lumedynes do you have?

AFAIK the Lumedyne Classic heads work just fine with the newer "next generation" packs.
Check what type of head you have: there is a 800Ws and a 2400Ws flash bulb IIRC. There's also a version without a ML.
