Oct 13, 2007 19:59 | #34 Michael, Nice images but why, in the second image, is one plane sharp and in focus and the other is not. I was panning with the plane in the back (I have this knack of always picking the one in the rear Julie

Oct 14, 2007 18:39 | #38 Another one. The small image doesn't really show it but I was really impressed by how the 40D nailed the focus and how sharp it is.
A couple more 40D observations. The dust shaker seems to be doing a good job. It may not work perfectly but I don't see massive evidence of dust bunnies after the show. My 30D collected them like mad. I know dust was being pumped into my 40D - I got crud all over the mirror, but so far nothing is jumping out at me from the shots. The buttons are way too easy to push accidently. I would put the camera down in my lap between acts and then pick it up only to find it in a menu screen, or picture info, or some other weird thing. After one instance, the picture numbering went crazy and went back by a count of 200 in the middle of one card. And I had another day where the Bigma shot an entire day without hunting for focus. That custom function to stop lens drive when AF is impossible really works! Julie
