Hi,
I received my 40D last Thursday and I am wondering if I will be able to use my OLD MACRO equipment with it.

I have:
Canon Macro Lens Mount Converter FD-EOS (the one without the glass) Canon 35mm Macro Lens
Canon 50mm Macro FD Lens
Canon Photo Micro unit F
Canon Auto Bellows.

I originally posted this on the digital slr site and only got 1 reply. I would really like to get some more input before I try this. I don't want to cause any damage to my new camera, but it would be terrific to be able to use it with my Macro gear and with my Microscope.

Can't see any reason why it would not work -think the only problem with non-glass FD/EOS converters was infinity focus which is not really an issue here. Think you should suck it and see.
Obviously you will be operating in Tv or M modes on the camera

I have to agree on the reversed 50mm FD.
That is what I have been using on my 20D as of late.

Focus and aperture control is all manual.
20D set to ISO 200, Exposure mode set on (M)
Aperture reading on the top LCD shows 00 for aperture
I basically control the shutter speed so (M) or (TV) is fine

To Focus you just rock back and forth and Aperture I use the aperture control lever on the back to step aperture down to f/8 and f/11
I usually focus first and have my one finger resting on aperture control lever and the other on the shutter button and right when I have the focus I want ie the eyes.
I move the aperture lever and then straight after hit shutter button.
It takes a bit to perfect the technique.
Anyway any questions feel free to ask, like Macro Junkie said there are others on here who will help you out.
