If prices dip below $2,000 when the 5D mkII is released, I hope to join you guys.

Agree with all the praising posts - love my 5D! I am seriously considering the 1Ds Mk III, but 5D is an amazing camera.

Just another person who loves their 5D. I think even Ron wants another 5D to keep... at least for a week or so. ;)

But I have been totally happy with my 5D. I cant bring myself to selling it, at least not for what most want to pay for it. I may get the upgrade to the 5D when it comes out, we'll see.

My 5D arrived last thursday, I took some candid pics this weekend (kids picking out the pumkins) and from what I've seen so far, I'm going to love this body.

I thought the same thing about my D200 and then the D300 was released and I said, oh that's just slightly better, my D200 still makes kick ass photos, why do I need a D300? After some thought and sample images... 1-2 stops of better noise handling was nice but the pro grade autofocus sensor was a big one... Then I just said screw the D200, I'll buy a D3 becaause it's SO good. :D

I hate being a gearhead.

And it may go down even more tomorrow. Oct. 15th is the norm for rebates. :-)

That's with the 24-105mm f4L. It's not that bad of a deal. $2249 for just the body.

I love the 5D. Traded it for a 1D Mark II N. Eventually went back to the 5D and plan on keeping this one until it dies. That's saying something. ;)

Ed ... you change your gear like i change my socks so pardon me if i'm a bit skeptical ;)!

I really felt I had to comment on how wonderful this camera has been.

I have had it for a year now and for the first time ever have absolutely no desire to look at other bodies...I really can't see what else out there could offer me all that this camera has given me...even a 5DMk2 or 6D if ever they produce one could ever encourage me to upgrade from this beauty.

So if any of you are in doubt over whether to buy one or not..I can only say that it is something you will never regret..or feel you need to improve on.

i've used my 5d for over 10 months too and i have no plans of "upgrading".

one thing that's even made me happier with the 5d is the addition of a 1.6 crop body to serve as a "teleconverter' when i need more reach.

with the two cameras and my lens selection i really do feel prepared for anything.

just imagine a couple of months ago some were calling the 40d the new IQ king..........

yeah right ;)!
