American Kestrel

Hi All
I haven't posted many pics in the bird forum in quite a while.
Although the nice thing is I have an increased raptor presence in my neighborhood lately, there seems to be more Red Shouldered hawks lately and I happened to notice a pair of Kestrels in a tree across the street from my house so they are nesting nearby somewhere.

Anyway here are some that I was able to get, Lens 70-300 Sigma is seriously limiting how close I can get to get sharp images, Planning on getting 100-400 in the near future.

Quite happy at the fact that this little one is perched on a natural element as opposed to a man made object.
beautiful to be able to watch them perched in the tree and then dart off catch stuff in mid air and land back in the tree.

I'm just glad I finally have seen a Kestrel and then to have a pair nearby is awesome.
I just wish I had the 100-400 lens and a 1.4 TC, hopefully for Christmas.
Then I can get rid of this 70-300 Sigma lens.
