"Still, don’t forget: proper exposure is the key to noise free pictures at any ISO.."

Really, I didn't even think about placing exposure in the picture...

:p

Nah, just being sarcastic man, I appreciate your advice. I just shoot so many really low light situations that noise is always an issue for me.

But anyways, after a lot of thinking I'm leaning towards the 40D until the 5D's successor comes out, then dumping my rebel and having my kit consist of the 40D and "6"D. 40D for action, 6D for portraiture and landscape.

Now, the question is though, is the 40D's first gen build quality "faulty" enough to warrant a grace period before I buy one?

Sorry I'm asking so many questions, that's just my nature...

Think about what you would use it the most for. If sports is a big part of your work right now I would consider a 40D due to the FPS and focus speed. If it is portraits go 5D all the way.

The thing is I only shoot sports during the summer, and like I said, I'm about to open up my own portraiture business. So in that case, the 5D would be the obvious winner. But like I said, I don't have the lenses to take full advantage of the 5D, as I would ONLY be able to use it for portraiture (when I would like to use it for everything [except sports and action that is])...

Ah, decisions, decisions.

No need to wait, no major bugs to avoid.
I have used mine a lot since I got it, done weddings and sports ( I shoot ice hockey for a team) and it have worked perfectly.

On some occasions it have measured the light differently from the 5D and overexposed, mostly inside churches. I don't know if this is a bug or a difference in the measurement system.
