Is anyone using the DH40 with a 40D, or 30D with the grip attached and if so what do you think about it?

Thanks.

You can check out my review of the DH50, it should give you enough information. See my signature. Unfortunately, you won't find many people here with TT products. Very rare. It's a Domke/Lowepro environment.

I have one and use my 5D with grip in it. Works great. These are the best holsters out there, IMO.

Great review - thanks for taking the time to make it (yes, I know it wasn't just for me!), the last photo is what I was looking for, the 40D with the Grip attached in the bag. Looks like the DH40 might be just what I want - not easy to find a shop that stocks it in the UK though!

Hehehe, I'll tell you what, I'm looking for a Crumpler Daily XXL (Sold only in Europe), if you can get that for me, I'll get the DH40 for you here and we'll both ship to each other. Unfortunately, the Daily XXL is not sold here in the US, very very very very hard to find (and I'm still looking).

Let me know if you want to do something like that. We'll work out the price difference.

Thanks for that - but I've just ordered one from what I think is the only UK store that stocks them!!

It's cool, I just threw out the option. Regardless, you did read and absorb the information between the difference in the DH40 and DH50..right?

Yes thanks, the 40 should be fine with the 24-105 which is my "walkabout" lens.

That then would be perfect for it. I was going to initially go with the 40D, but my wife would kill me if I had to return it for a larger version. Buy/return buy/return! lol.

I have the DH20, I can't use my grip with it, but I bought it primarily for hiking and backpacking where i use the TT attachments that fasten it to my packs shoulder harness, it works great. I can just do the 5D with 24-105 hood forward, and if extended can use the 100-400 hood reversed. Sorry, don't mean to go off topic regarding the DH40, just wanted to put in my kudos for the design and build.

Yes the DH10-20-30 are designed for no-grip attached. 40 for grip and 50 for grip or pro camera.

Between the 20/30 and the 40/50, they both have the same concept of either having the hood stored reversed or have the capability to store it not reversed. Just look at it this way, 40/50 is camera with grip and the 20/30 is camera with no grip. The 10..well for XTI/XT smaller cameras "no grip".

It's all in my review but a quick summary here.

Just received the DH40 today - absolutley perfect for the 40D, grip and 24-105, which fits easily with the hood reversed and "just" with the hood facing front, without needing to extend the bag.

Thanks again for the review, it helped me get the right thing first time!

Awesome!

Actually today at the PDN Photo Plus Expo, ThinkTank was there and I got to see all their products. Well 90% of it that they had. I was like a little kid at a kids store. Finally I was able to see the difference between all the DH first hand, the UD first hand, the Speed Racer/Freak/Demon, etc. etc. etc.! I did buy the speed belt w/10% off and almost tempted to buy the UD bags.
